ARG
An alternate reality game (ARG) is an interactive narrative that uses the real world as a platform, often involving multiple media and game elements, to tell a story that may be affected by participants' ideas or actions.
I thought it would be a very good idea to make an ARG for my film, partly as a live experiment in multiple media techniques, and how to spark an interest in people to make them explore an idea, solve puzzles, and gain clues.
The whole ARG is held within a single domain - www.BCCTU.org - which was the company that 'Spider' and 'Spike' used to work for. When a player goes onto the website, it wont be obvious that the site is one big game, just like an ARG should be presented. the user will gain information from poking around the site, clicking on things, and using puzzle solving skills to get around blocks they might encounter.
There is a walkthrough for the site at BCCTU.org, but if you are going to play the game, I suggest NOT reading the walkthrough, as this will spoil the experience. |
